Join Gooney Bird Adventures for a breathtaking 30-minute flight along Darwin’s spectacular coastline. Soar aboard the iconic Douglas/Dakota DC-3 and relive the dramatic moments of WWII as you fly over historic bombing sites and shipwrecks that tell the story of the 1942 Bombing of Darwin.

Flight Path Highlights:

  • Taking off from Darwin Airport and heading towards the coastline.

  • Flying past Mindil Beach, the Sailing and Trailer Boat Club, and East Point.

  • Cruising back towards Darwin City.

  • Circling above Darwin Harbour, with aerial views of Stokes Hill Wharf - the area hardest hit during the bombing raids.

  • Hearing a live commentary from our knowledgeable crew about the sunken wrecks and WWII heritage sites.

  • Returning via Lee Point, Nightcliff Jetty, and East Point, before landing back at Darwin Airport.
